Can China afford to Go to war against the US and allies on Taiwan?

Can China afford to Go to war against the US and allies on Taiwan? War is never desired but sometimes it’s the only option to bring peace, and it seems that a new one could be around the corner and may hit us sooner than what we had expected. As and when WW1 started everyone was aware of the quantum of the impact that it was going to make, even though it was a war involving fairly recent innovations and ancestors of weapons that now every major nations holds. Not only WW1 kill 21-22 million people but it sowed the seeds of WW2 in the minds of defeated nations and their future leaders. WW2 came with devastation that could have not been imagined by any human brain up until then. It brought agony to millions and death to some 40-50 million, which can be approximately equated to the entire population of South Korea and more than Spain in 2022. Why future seems grim. Coming at number 1 and 3, China and the USA have a population of 1.4 Billion and 325 million respectively. Both t...

Will India be a push over for China?

T hinking of India China clashing in a full blown war may run shiver down the spine of at least 2.7 billion people, but repercussion of such a war will be devastating for the entire global economy. China and India, both the civilizational states have existed side by side for millenniums, but only recently things have started to flare up quite often. Point of contention for both the nations is 3488 km long LAC (Line Of Actual Control) that runs all the way from Ladakh region of India to Arunanchal Pradesh bordering Tibet region of China. It seems both nations are adamant on holding their view on the perception of LAC and what all places it transverse from. It doesn’t surprise anyone when one gets to know that this historic problem has a British history at play in the background. China believes that the agreement reached by the British Indi was not legit as it was done with Tibet, which was the part of China and had no jurisdiction on settling borders. India on the other hand state...

Cost of Russian dream: Russia-Ukraine War

Starting from the late ninth century Kievan Rus, Russia in its contemporary borders has always been expanding with sporadic events of loosing territories. These expansions from the early years till modern day Russia has impacted a range of people from a different ethnicity and lineages. Russia since from its birth had its expanses covering areas of Ukraine, Belarus, Finland and Baltic states.  Russia like every other country has taken pride in maintaining its sovereignty and territorial integrity but rarely had the same feeling for its bordering states. Russia for last few centuries had territory under its domain roughly more than the area of Pluto, but yet never halted its ambitions to expand. East European states have more or less overlapping beliefs and languages similar to Russians but never completely identified them as Russians. Even the smaller Baltic states have always demanded to maintain their own identities separate from Russia. Be it former USSR or current ...

SOLAR STORM: OUR SUN’S OCCASIONAL TANTRUMS

T he sun can easily be referred to as the most important object in our sky. People here on earth can hardly comprehend the massive size of our sun, people may rarely talk about the significance it holds for life on earth, but this life enabler has a tendency of throwing tantrums every now and then, tantrums that can spell disaster for earthlings. Before diving into the severity of these tantrums let us know some facts about the sun in order to understand the gravity of the situation (pun intended). Starting with a simple question to know more about sun What is the size of the sun? 1.39 million Km is the answer in simple words, but what does it mean? This means if we could fit earth inside the sun, we would require more than a million piles of the earth to fill it up. Comfortably sitting at the center of our solar system, the sun alone accounts for 99.86% of the mass of our solar system. That is like whatever our solar system has including all planets, comets, asteroids, moons and all t...

AFGHANISTAN: IN THE PURSUIT OF ELUSIVE PEACE

AFGHANISTAN: IN THE PURSUIT OF ELUSIVE PEACE Afghanistan  could be a story of the struggle, pain, and grit of Afghan people, an ordeal of Afghans to hunt ever eluding peace. This nation has become synonymous with war and anarchy. other than few brief periods of relative calm and stability, peace has largely eluded this land of Afghans for hundreds of years now. All of the nations owe peace to Afghanistan, not because we destabilized it because we as humans share this responsibility of providing safety and security to our fellow innocent humans. The falling of Afghan cities Kunduz, Herat lefts Kabul the sole stronghold for the Afghan government. Taliban's pace of advancement may leave more cities liable to chaos. Humans never wished to be  an element of conflicts and rivalries of other nations, but Afghans were dragged into the chaos. The battleground for others resulted in scars for Afghans. Wounds th...

‘OUMUAMUA: A Messenger From A Distant World

‘OUMUAMUA: A Messenger From A Distant World A n object  was quietly hurtling through our  solar system charting its way out when it was detected inadvertently by a physicist/observer Robert Weryk in the year 2017.  This observer never had an idea that what he had discovered was  the first  interstellar object observed by mankind. The Pan-STARSS telescope at Haleakala Observatory in Hawaii was the piece of instrument that was used on the fateful day of 19 Oct 2019 when 'Oumuamua was discovered. Since the day of its discovery, 'Oumuamua has never  le down the  scientists and always surprised astronomers about its true nature.   Each observation deepens the mystery  around the 'Oumuamua making it more and more complex. No one was ever in doubt about the interstellar origin of 'Oumuamua considering its strong hyperbolic trajectory and superfast speed of 94,800Km/S in the interstellar space relative to our sun. it absolut...

The Red Dream: Nation Built On Million Skulls

M odern nations are fairly young on the world stage of geopolitics, in fact, the nation-state as an idea dates not far too back in recorded history. Small city-states, principalities, kingdoms, and few empires ruled the majority of humanity. One of these kingdoms was the middle kingdom. People inhabiting the lands in this kingdom had a notion of them being the center of the world. Most of the people may recognize this kingdom by its much more familiar name “China”. Officially known as the People’s Republic of China(PRC). China as a political entity in its current form came into existence back in 1949 when Mao Zedong claimed China as a communist nation from than Republic of China (ROC) led by Kuomintang. The defeats of ROC lead to two major outcomes, first was the creation of Taiwan and the second was communist China embarking on its journey to prosperity A price paid for prosperity Prosperity eluded China for far too long, largely due to the myopic vision of its leaders supplemented ...
